Day #4 - Wrap-Up

Day #4 was definitely more difficult than Day #3 - but I was still able to lose 3.2 pounds.  I think part of the problem was that I was back at work. It was tough because I had to get gas.  Normally this is not a big deal, but I gave myself a rule that I would only do Dunkin Donuts on days I had to get gas.  It was very tough driving past...but I did it.

Day #3 - Wrap-Up

Yesterday was the first day on the "Very Low Calorie Diet" (VLCD).  I ended up losing 2.4 pounds.  I am not too excited as whenever I would diet in the past the first several days I would tend to lose a lot (usually water weight).  An interesting fact is apparently 1 ounce of water weighs .0652 pounds.

I think overall it went surprisingly well.  I will try to update this post later with photos of some of the meals, but I was shocked at how much food was "only" 250 calories.  The whole plate was covered in food.  I still find myself hungry after I eat, but I am pretty sure that is because I am used to consuming far more than 250 calories at a sitting.

Day #2 - Wrap-up

Well...the loading phase is complete.  For me at least Day #2 was much better than Day #1.  I think it is primarily because I spaced out my calories all day (more in the morning).  I actually went over the 5,000.  I ended up eating 2 fewer Hostess Apple Pies than I had planned on.  I also avoided "empty" calories at dinner by just drinking water and I even ate less of my dinner overall.

Day #2 - Loading Day (Morning Update)

Well, Day #1 was close to the total calorie "requirements".  I actually couldn't force myself to eat anymore so I ended up around 4,500 calories.  Considering I would usually eat half of that I think I did OK.

Other than breakfast (Dunkin Donuts) I don't really have any plans for today's needs (although I do have more Hostess Apple Pies to fall back on).

Day #1 - Evening Update

Ok...so this is downright difficult.  I am going to get to the bottom of why 5,000 (Dr. Amanda says 5,000 - 6,000) calories is needed.  Why not 4,200?

As I write this I am close to my goal...but I feel absolutely miserable.  Maybe it is to make your body hate food?

I just finished eating Chipotle (my favorite), 2 Hostess Apple Pies, and a glass of milk.  Let's check in on the status:


Day #1 - Afternoon Update

I just took my 2nd round of drops today.  I also wanted to update my calorie count.

I normally go eat lunch with my Dad on Friday's and today was no exception (except that Dr. Amanda and Lexi joined us).  To celebrate the "last" meal together we (re: Dr. Amanda) chose The Cheesecake Factory.  I decided to get my usual (Bang-Bang Chicken).  The total calorie count on this meal is 1,380 with 20 grams of fat.


Day #1 - Loading Day

Yesterday I mentioned that I was going to do the ChiroHCG diet.  Well, today is day #1, and it is a "Loading Day".  I will admit I am really not sure why it exists, and even more confused as to why there are 2 of them, but I will follow the directions to a T.

As you probably know, the "key" to weight loss and weight gain is the number of calories that you eat.  According to the experts I should be eating around 2,200 calories per day for my sedentary lifestyle.  If I were to eat 1,700 a day then I would lose 1 pound a week.  Conversely if I ate 2,700 a day then I would gain 1 pound a week.
